Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY
This position requires a heart for serving those who have been traumatized through sex trafficking. This is an opportunity to make a difference and help by taking on a challenge. This position requires a highly motivated person who wants to work in a beautiful natural outdoor environment while pouring into the lives of our care recipients. This position provides care and supervision to minors from ages 12 to 18.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide support to female care recipients
• Provides appropriate role modeling in a trauma-informed therapeutic environment that promotes the physical, mental and behavioral health of each resident
• Provide structure and assistance to support Individualized Treatment Plan
• Communicate and collaborate with care recipients to develop and reinforce daily living skills
• Assist in conducting and participating in daily activities
• Respond to care recipients with empathy, sensitivity and respect, maintaining trauma sensitive language and approaches in all interactions
• Actively engage in day-to-day structured and unstructured recreational activities and life skill development and maintenance
• Implement crisis intervention techniques in accordance with policy, procedure and agency training and ensure that non-violent physical interventions are implemented only in the event that a client is an immediate risk to self or others
• Assist in skills classes
• Assist in solving problems
• May include overnight supervision
• Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• At least 21 years of age or older
• Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years exp.
• Valid CA Driver’s License Class A (Class B a plus)
• Current CPR/First Aid Certified (or willing to procure certifications within 3 months of hire)
• TB Clearance
• Complete a Live Scan background check
• Professional, welcoming and friendly demeanor
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Proactive approach to work assignments and a “Get it done” attitude
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING VALID CERTIFICATES/ TRAININGS TO SET UP INTERVIEW:
CPR/ FIRST AIDE, CERT
WATER SAFETY, CERT
MANDATED REPORTER, CERT
FOOD HANDLER, CERT
CSEC 101, TRAINING CERT
Must have clean DMV driving record and provide a DMV driving record print out.
